Teletherapy, also known as video counseling, is a method of receiving counseling or therapy services through a live video connection over the internet. It's designed to provide the same level of therapy you would receive in person, but from the comfort of your own home. This service is available to both established clients and new clients who, following an initial in-person evaluation, are determined to be suitable for this form of psychotherapy. To ensure your privacy and security, our teletherapy service is conducted through a HIPAA compliant Electronic Health Records (EHR) service, specifically My Best Practice. Before each session, you will receive a one-time-use link via email, allowing you to access the session seamlessly. If you're curious about TeleTherapy and whether it's the right fit for you, please don't hesitate to inquire.

We appreciate your understanding.

At DPS-ACT's practice, we do not directly accept insurance for therapy or assessments. However, we understand that each individual has unique needs. To accommodate those needs, we may offer a sliding scale fee structure. Additionally, for clients seeking reimbursement through their insurance provider, Dr. Dixon can provide a superbill. This allows clients to submit claims for out-of-network billing directly to their insurance company. Please note that this process is assessed on a case-by-case basis, ensuring that we work to find the best solution for you.

Do you accept insurance?

Absolutely. People turn to therapy for a myriad of reasons, and the potential benefits are boundless. Therapy offers a path towards healing and resilience. Perhaps you're at a crossroads, feeling discontent or frustrated with your current life circumstances. Whether it's addiction, relationships, or family dynamics, therapy serves as a compass guiding you towards positive change. Through therapy, you'll gain a deeper understanding of how you navigate life's challenges, all within a nurturing and supportive environment. It's a journey that can be both demanding and immensely gratifying.

Is therapy the right choice for you?

Choosing self-pay for your therapy has its advantages. When you opt for self-pay, you have greater control over your healthcare journey. Unlike insurance, which requires Dr. Dixon to provide a diagnosis based on the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual-5TR (DSM-5TR) and share this diagnosis with your health insurance company for reimbursement, self-pay allows for a more confidential and flexible approach to your treatment. While insurance companies are expected to maintain confidentiality, some individuals are concerned about the potential stigma associated with a mental health diagnosis or the impact on future employment opportunities. Self-pay eliminates these concerns. If you choose self-pay, Dr. Dixon can provide you with a 'Superbill,' which you can submit to your insurance company independently for potential reimbursement. This offers you the option to navigate the financial aspect of therapy with added privacy and control.

Is self-pay right for me?

The cost of a comprehensive evaluation with Dr. Dixon may vary depending on the specific type of evaluation required. For detailed information on pricing, we invite you to schedule a free consultation with us.

Generally, evaluations are billed on an hourly basis and typically encompass the following components:

A 1-2 hour initial interview to understand your unique needs.
2-6 hours of comprehensive testing, which can vary based on the nature of the evaluation and the specific referral question.
1-2 hours dedicated to scoring the assessment data.
3-6 hours devoted to crafting a detailed evaluation report.
A 1-hour feedback session where you'll receive a comprehensive review of the findings.

In total, the evaluation process can range from approximately 8 to 17 hours, depending on the complexity of the referral question and the areas that need to be addressed. Dr. Dixon kindly requests a 50% deposit based on the estimated cost of the evaluation at the first session. The remaining balance is due before the start of the final feedback session. Please note that these details serve as a general guideline and may be subject to adjustment based on your specific evaluation needs.

How much does an evaluation cost and what is included in the cost of the evaluation?

Absolutely! Collaboration with your team is fundamental to achieving the best possible outcomes in your care. I see myself as a supportive advocate for your well-being, and working closely with your existing team is a key part of that. I firmly believe that when all 'team members' are on the same page, we can provide you with the most comprehensive and effective healthcare possible. However, it's important to note that I will only collaborate with your team if that aligns with your preferences and wishes.
